Glinton Parish CouncilThe Parish Council consists of 11 elected councillors supported by a qualified clerk (CiLCA). The council was accredited as a ‘Quality Parish Council’ on 17 October 2007. Two working groups deal with planning and financial issues and individual councillors represent the village for other activities such as; Clare Lodge, Patients Participation Group, AMVC Pool, Peterborough Association of Local Councils & Police Consultative Group. The Clerk acts as the Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) and Proper Officer undertaking general administration tasks, including the processing of planning applications and the management of the Lawn Cemetery situated in Rectory Lane. Parish Reports The parish reports will added to this website as they become available. The annual report issued in 2007 is now available to be downloaded. Elections The election for the parish council took place on 4 May 2006. The official results can be downloaded here as a pdf file Lawn Cemetery, Rectory Lane The Lawn Cemetery is owned by Glinton Parish Council and administered by the Clerk; eligibility is outlined below, irrespective of religious denomination. Right of Interment For full details of the regulations, costs etc please download the Lawn Cemetery Information Sheet (in pdf format) Glinton Village Design Statement A Village Design statement (VDS) describes the distinct visual character of the village and its surrounding countryside that makes it a special place to live. Village residents have been involved in its production and their views are set out in guidelines that indicate to residents and builders how local character, distinctiveness and Glinton’s existing historic features can be both protected and enhanced under future development. The Glinton village design statement is now available as a pdf file. You should be aware that this document is 1.7mb in size. Any representation regarding the Glinton Village Design Statement should be submitted in writing to Councillor Andrew Warn, 22 High Street, Glinton, Peterborough PE6 7LS Freedom of Information The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act applies to public authorities including local government and gives a general right of access to recorded information held, subject to certain conditions and exemptions. It places a duty on every public authority to adopt and maintain a publication scheme which sets out the classes of information the authority publishes or intends to publish, how that information may be obtained and any charge that is made for it.
